Medically Complex Children

Approximately 36 percent of children and youth with special health care needs are enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP. While individuals with disabilities and complex conditions have historically received their care through traditional Medicaid fee-for-service, states are increasingly enrolling these populations in managed care arrangements.
