Events Production to Reach New Levels at Medicaid Plans

Professional planner Smith brings fresh approach to association’s annual conference, overall marketing

WASHINGTON, DC – May 16, 2018 – Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA), the leading association representing the managed Medicaid industry, added events planning and marketing professional Devin Smith as a senior manager to its marketing and meetings team. Smith will serve the crucial dual roles of helping produce MHPA’s flagship event, its annual conference, as well as communicating key elements of MHPA’s strategic plan to stakeholders.

Smith boasts a decade of both professional event and marketing experience with companies like Southwest Media Group, Trifecta Event Management, and Nexus Systems. His strong foundation of producing conferences for non-profits will be especially useful at MHPA. Smith also brings a wealth of tradeshow management expertise, which will serve him well given the big role partner companies play at MHPA’s annual conference.  He has an M.A. in strategic communications from American University and a B.A. from University of North Texas.

“Devin’s exceptional skills in event production will be put to good use as we push to make our annual conference even better than before,” said Nicole Dolan, MHPA’s vice president of membership and development. “His tradeshow experience in particular will help match the goods and services of vendor partners to our members and make it a whole new experience for everyone. And considering the marketing he’ll do to help promote the industry’s priorities and policies, it’ll be clear how valuable an asset he will be to our organization and the industry as a whole.”
